For this pool scene, each set of partners were given a theme and a graphic precedent, ours was David Hockney’s, Pool with Two Figures and the theme of 4th of July BBQ. The goal of the project was to design a pool scape and illustrate it using similar techniques that Hockney uses in his paintings and bring the theme of 4th of July BBQ to life in the illustration.
The illustration and overall design of the pool promotes an energetic and easy-going atmosphere as we created a version of a Los Angeles beach club 4th of July party for not only people but dogs too!

We have two buildings one functioning as the main building for people with locker rooms etc. and the other building functioning as the dog spa. The pools flow off of the main architecture and lead you to the crowded beach. The texture and color palette was all inspired from different Hockney paintings.
